AX 1820/6 is a two-component polychloroprene adhesive for the shoe industry especially developed to bond soles made of synthetic and natural rubber, as well as to cement leathers. It is suitable also for binding heels and edges in synthetic and natural materials. AX 1820/6 has to be used with an activator, such as DESMODUR RE, DESMODUR RFE or POLYDUR PU in quantity of 5-7% in weight. Main features: high adhesion, great heat resistance, long lifetime and high output. Instructions for Use: 1. Agitate and mix carefully the adhesive. 2. Carefully rough the surfaces to be bonded in order to allow a good adhesive penetration. Mix AX 1820/6 with 5-7% of activator. The lifetime of the mixture is limited! We recommend to prepare a quantity enough for 1 – 1 ½ hours of work processing. 3. Apply the adhesive using a hard brush with by circulate movement. In this way you allow a better penetration and good, uniform distribution of the adhesive. On very absorbent materials we suggest to apply a second layer few minutes after the first one. 4. Coating will dry in 15 – 30 minutes. Put the parts together and press. Over 30 minutes wait time we suggest to heat reactivate the adhesive. Bonding is definitively stabilized after 48 hours..
